Gandhi's Importance
Gandhi took part in many important events in his time. Most of what he did was beneficial to India's freedom struggle. At the time, he gave India its’ shape and character. His non-violent ways and peaceful methods were the foundation for gaining independence from the British. His passion for taking action came from him watching the injustices that people in India faced. He found out that the British were ruling his country and were treating his fellow citizens harshly.
Gandhi started the non-cooperation movement in India. This movement was aimed at making Indians aware that the British government can be opposed. Educational institutions and foreign goods were boycotted. This awakened Indians to the concept of going against the British. The civil disobedience movement is another non-violent movement that Gandhi started. This movement was aimed at bringing the British administration to a stop by withdrawing support from everything. The Quit India movement and the Indian Independence were two other movements that Gandhi created to fight for freedom using non-violence in India.
Gandhi's actions in the past do well to show the importance of his existence. However his importance didn't end when he died. Many people around the world take upon his influence today. Gandhi proved that one man could take on an empire, using ethics and intelligence.
